Mind Management

Objective - To understand how learning the mind management is crucial in sustainable road safety .

If we have learned mind management the we will manage our mind intelligently and if we have not learned the mind management then we will manage our minds accidently. Mindlessness state is the major cause of road crashes. We have left our mind free, and mind is committing road safety breaches which leads to damage the human body and metal body.

If we leave our house unlocked while sleeping or going to our neighbor's houses, thieves can easily rob our house, Let us understand this logic. Sleep is Cognitive comfort, neighbors’ house is cognitive distraction and unlocked house is our moving body on the roads. Our mind shifts to cognitive comfort or cognitive distraction from our moving body on roads which creates a cognitive blindness and cognitive lag. The cognitive lag invites the cognitive tax that increases the cognitive load, and the total duration of a cognitive cycle.

Our minds always prefer to be in cognitive comfort which is the process of thinking about past memories and future worries, and cognitive effort is staying present in the current task, but it disengages from the current task very often and we re-engage it again and again. Attention span is reduced to 4 to 5 seconds and mind disengages from the complex cognitive task and goes back to cognitive comfort which brings a cognitive lag and cognitive tax that increases cognitive load. This cognitive load increases the total duration of a cognitive cycle, as a result it delays and decreases the cognitive performance which is a major cause of road crashes.

"The auto pilot functionality of the brain is not activated for complex cognitive activities of road safety like it has been activated for driving tasks by storing them in the memory of our brain, and it is when the mind disengages from complex cognitive tasks because of the want of cognitive comfort, it increases cognitive lag, ultimately it increases the total duration of cognitive cycle which causes inaccuracy in performance".

Why we prefer mind slavery
Darkness is no match with light but light must be active because in the absence of light darkness is active. Sleeping consciousness is no match with waking consciousness but waking consciousness must be active because in the absence of waking consciousness, sleeping consciousness is active. Sleeping consciousness is a comfort and seeking which is a living life with mind guidance, is called mind slavery. Road users have considered road crashes deaths as natural disaster, which is not.  "Until you make the unconscious conscious it will direct your life and you will call it fate"--.Carl Jung.

The pleasure of mind slavery is a luring package full of comfort and convenience and it can kill us instantly on the road, but not at home or at the workplace. Our minds also prefer to remain in comfort mode rather than in effort mode. The preference for Comfort and Convenience should be changed to Cautiousness and Consciousness on the roads. In Mind Mastery we initiate a command, in Mind Slavery we respond to a command.

We all are slaves to our minds because our minds drags us into the same pit more often to enjoy the taste of the senses as well as engages us in the process of thinking about past memories and future worries again and again and we are unknowingly getting into a self-deception trap of accidental suicide. It is crucial to be masters of our minds over slaves of our minds on the road because mind slavery kills us on the road.

The mind and water have similar properties; water flows down slopes for easier transport, whereas water needs pressure and force to be taken to heights. The mind drifts in the process of thinking about past memories and future worries which is easier task, whereas mind needs pressure and force to be taken to heights. We need special force to engage mind in the present for a long period of time, when on roads.

When our cognitive resources are preoccupied with an unconscious task, we may be more likely to perform another action impulsively and unconsciously due to increased cognitive load and a reduced capacity for conscious control. This often happens when attention is divided, making it harder to inhibit or control immediate impulses that are triggered by external or internal stimuli. We also try to perform complex cognitive task unconsciously and manage cognitive situation accidentally which we believe we manage intelligently.

When the reality first manifests in the inner world then in the outer world we should work on our inner world first to become victor instead of victim in our daily battle for a safe commute. Our mind turns from savior to slayer without our knowledge, hence, we need to learn mind management so that our mind remains a savior while on the road. If the mind is present in the battle then the battle is won, if the mind is absent in the battle then the battle is lost. We have to work on our mind so that it remains in the battle while on the road (battle-field). "Defeat is when the mind loses, victory is when the mind wins."

Our mind is committing a major breach in sustainable road safety and  we should deploy special guards to ensure complete self-control and be proactive over reactive on the roads.
