Abstract
Objective To assess & find out the total duration of a cognitive cycle and the factors influence negatively to delay in completing a cognitive cycle.
The years-long findings of research by our team have shaken the global road safety world. Complex cognitive tasks we should perform jointly consciously and subconsciously for better result. "Break your illusion before it breaks you". "Following practice many things including vehicle driving activity we do unconsciously (subconsciously) , we perform complex cognitive tasks less consciously that we should do preconsciously (subconsciously) , and manage cognitive situations accidently rather than intelligently and believe we manage them intelligently". Our research has found that this is a false belief as complex cognitive task is not stored in the subconscious. Practice does not make us perfect, but perfect practice makes us perfect.
Click on the below image and you will be redirecting to a new page to Check Your Brain Reaction Time. Just tap on the button "Click to Start" and then by simply tap the screen when it turns from red to green as quickly as possible and you will get your brain reaction time. Check your brain reaction time thrice and you find find your average reaction time in the same place.
Now in this brain reaction test, time has a significance and you have only one option to quickly tap on the screen when it turns from red to green and in this process you are preconscious and super proactive. But on the road you have to select one option from 5 and make a right decision and take action proactively and preconsciously.
In our surroundings on the road, we have to continually Scan for hazards, then Select the developing hazard and send a Signal to our brain. After identifying the developing hazard we have to take the right decision from the 5S Preventive Tools (Steady, Speed, Slow, Swerve & Stop) and then take timely action, because the delay of just one second causes the collision.
The mind disengages from the current task and we re-engage it, and identifying hazards takes time and eventually, it fails to identify hazards or fails to take the right decision, or fails to take the timely action, resulting in accidental suicide.
When the hazard is identified, made right decision, and we take action proactively and the average brain reaction time is 300 milliseconds, as shown in the category number 2 herein below.. The hazards scan status, action time, activeness level, consciousness level and the outcome of 4 categories are shown in the below table.
Road users have to form cognitive danger & collision CDC Zone consistently and be in a safe zone. The above mention CC Timing plus safe transition time makes a complete prevention effort. All road users fall into the 3rd category of cognitive consciousness level and every day around 500 road users die in accidental suicide because they all managed cognitive situations unconsciously rather than preconsciously.
For the prevention of road crashes, we largely rely on other road users in the hope they manage cognitive situations preconsciously. If they don't, a road crash occurs. All road users have to take 100% responsibility of road crash prevention rather than sharing it, only then we can increase the level of our consciousness and advance road safety sustainability.
Road crashes are rin rear collision, front collision, some comes in front of you from the left or from the right side and this complex cognitive task is not stored in the subconscious and mind is either engaged in Task C or Task D which leads to road crash.
When we have learned and practiced one thing and are doing it unconsciously, and if we do unlearned and unpracticed things unconsciously that we should do consciously, then we will be managing it reactively and accidently.
By performing cognitive stimulation activities (CSAs), we delay cognitive decay, enhance cognitive consciousness and maintain cognitive abilities. "Forewarned is Forearmed". By developing our super proactive capacities also termed as 6 inner world armor/guards we increase the level of our cognitive consciousness, and they are
1. Mental Guard - To follow road traffic rules preconsciously on roads.
2. Cognitive Guard - To perform cognitive activities on roads.
3. Brain Backup Guard - Activate the autopilot functionality of brain to make to more active when the mind is absent from the current task on roads.
4. Fence Guard - form a cognitive fence with safe-danger-collision zone
5. Right Guard - Be the first to occupy the safe spot over collision spot
6. Intelligence Guard - strengthen your inner intelligence to control your mind.
If you have developed 6 inner armor, if your have deployed 6 guards then you have upgraded to next level of sustainable road safety, else stay in lockdown until you learn and develop.
